Day 40 - Target is evil

Today was the first time I've been in target in awhile, and I hope to not go back for quite some time more. I'll even pay more to go somewhere else. From the moment I walked in the door I was craving every single thing. It doesn't help that I was specifically there for candy to put on my daughter's Candyland themed valentines box, or the valentines in general. As I'm walking around the candy aisles for the needed items, I wanted nothing more than to eat it all. I'm creating if then' sin my head, wondering how're at was the most horrible guilty e many sit-ups or burpees it'd takes to eat each on wig the items. I've never wanted to much crap in my life - it was so bad! To the point that I actually took a handful of Raisnets as I put them in the trunk of my car. Terrible I know. But it didn't stop there. Had a few more when I got home, and by a few I mean 3 small handfuls. I couldn't get enough. Pretty soon all I wanted to do was curl up in front of the TV with the rest of the bag and veg out for the rest of the night. But I didn't, and even though there was a small lapse in eating judgement. I eventually put them out of sight and mind. While they were in my mouth though..... I enjoyed the hell out of them.

Going to Tatget during any holiday season is a no. Even though there's always a season for candy, until I get these sugar craving out of my head, I need to stay away. And now I see why they say sugar is more addictive than crack.

I love you, but I need to stay away for awhile.

I hope I got it out of my system now. So good - yet so bad.

It worked to help me quit smoking, so it should work to help the sugar addiction.

Day 39 - Can't sit down

You'd think with a title like that you'd expect to read about how I worked out a bunch. The opposite is actually true. I was actually super busy all day that I never got the chance to exercise or eat.  I was up at 6, working on paperwork and clipping coupons bright an early. Went to church, played some Broomball, wrote some bonds, did some nails, did some hair, and did a whole lot of driving. Now it's 3 hours until it's time to get up and all I can think of is how sleepy I will be tomorrow. Last time I got this much sleep, I didn't work out the next day either. MyFitnessPal is yelling at me that I didn't eat enough - ugh!

Well hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

I could've eaten a whole lot more - dang.

MyFitnessPal yelling at me.

Saw this and thought of myself lol

Day 38 - Nothing special

I should really just suit up right after school and get my workout done before coming home for anything. I swear as soon as I get in the house I just don't feel like doing anything else. So needless to say I didn't work out today - again! So I guess Sunday rest day is out of the question. I need some motivation. I wonder if there's any special tricks out there. Even though I didn't work out I was still under my calorie goal though. I totally missed lunch. And not on purpose either. One of my services at school went over the time slot so I ended up going to lunch late. And because I hadn't packed anything I just didn't eat. So I ended up starving all day. And I tell you, the vending machine was lookin damn good too, but I just told myself NO.

I wonder what's going to happen once I get the body I want. Is maintaining the figure as much work as gettin it? I would like to think I wouldn't have to do as much. Maybe an every other day routine, or every third. I know I won't be able to go balls out on food, but would I have to work out so vigorously. Hopefully skipping a workout day wouldn't make me feel so guilty. I'll have to do some research I guess.

On the brighter side - I made some Molasses Cookies:) those were pretty good I must say. And all made from compliant ingredients. It's good to have a treat every now and then:)

It's convenient but so bad for you. Now you know you're starving when you turn to this thing. Ew!

Mmmmm - home cooking beats vending any day of the week!!

If you're interested in making these yummy treats - here's the recipe.

Day 37 - Free day

Today we celebrated my daughters birthday dinner and cake. Ice cream cupcakes from Cold Stone, homemade egg rolls - mmmmm. I have 10 free days. This does not include vacations or camping. Today I used one of those days. I ate eggs rolls until I couldn't move then I topped it with my cupcake. My stomach hurts right now. And not the "I ate too much" kind of hurt - it's more like the "wtf did you put in my stomach" kind of hurt. My taste buds appreciated it big time though, it all tasted so wonderful. But I know I'll be regretting it tomorrow.

My daughter also asked for my special eggs with the Chinese sausage. The eggs have a touch of milk in them, like I've done countless times before the Whole30. Only this time, I could smell the milk getting hot. Man, it was pretty gross. So much so that I skipped the eggs. I do miss a tall glass of milk with ice, but really I think that's just a nice thought because my mind is like - dairy nooooo.

And I'm not gonna lie, I kinda felt that way about the cupcake too - but not so much.

No gym today either. No excuses - I just skipped. I'm running on 3 hours of sleep and I just didn't want to go. So tomorrow it is.

Feet up enjoying my free day

Papaya salad and Egg Rolls

My daughter is having a fundraiser. It's pretty terrible having to look at this stuff at my desk all day long.

Day 36 - And that Makes 2!

2 days in a row at the gym! - watch out now - I'm on a roll! Even though I have to get up at 3am to make it to work by 4 - I didn't use that as an excuse today. I have a goal and skipping the gym all the time isn't going to get me there. I need to remember that! I did the same run as yesterday, but just as I suspected, I wasn't able to run the whole 25 minutes straight. I got to about 19 running minutes and I need a quick 20 sec break. My legs were feeling all wobbly and sore. I felt like if I didn't stop my legs would be moving different than what my brain was telling them to do and I'd fall flat on my face. But after that one break, for the next 6 running minutes I took more breaks - UGH! That's when I realized, taking breaks during running is like breaking the seal when you're drinking. And that's not a good idea.

Nothing special about today though. I did see that Oreo cookies were coming out with a S'more version. And those things I will definitely need to stay away from. I am afraid to even try it because I know it would be over after that. I love s'more everything. Especially the cereal and the goldfish. Oreos are gonna be the death of me. Will Power is a must!!

Running selfie! Look at those double chins

Just a smidge further today

They were laying all nice and flat, open the container to this. Terrible.

Day 35 - I made it!!

Finally!! I finally made it to the gym!! And I plan on going tomorrow too! After I go I feel so motivated! Exclamation marks all over the place!! Maybe I should just never have a rest day - then I'd always be motivated. Hahahahha hahahahha - who am I kidding - I need my Sunday's!

It was running day today. And because I haven't ran in awhile I was able to run without taking breaks. I almost wanted to in the beginning, but I just pressed on. As I was programming the machine, I almost set the machine for only 30 minutes. Which is the same amount of time as all the times I ran January, and then I thought "how am I going to get better if I just keep doing the same old thing?" So I bumped it up to 35 minutes. I think a 5 minute increase on a monthly basis is good. Well for now, maybe I'll increase it later. I ran for 25 straight minutes at speed 5, with a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down. That extra 5 minutes of running did help too, I was able to run a smidge over 2 miles in that 25 minutes. If I kept up that pace for twice the distance, I'd finish the Get Lucky in under an hour!! I would be so proud.

2.62 miles!! Best distance yet!!

I don't know if I find these messages encouraging or not yet.

Day 34 - Massage day

I saw a quote yesterday that officially made me feel guilty about all my skipped gym days. I shared it below in my photos. Even though I don't know how someone as busy as me can always 100% be at the gym everyday, nor do I know anyone busier than me - let alone busier than me going to the gym. I mean if sleep wasn't a necessity, that would make things a lot easier. Or maybe showering - cutting out showering would do it to. The act of going to the gym and working out is only one small factor in time management, showering afterwards has to be considered. Like today, I could've taken a random middle of the day 30 min run at the gym, but that would've involved stopping at home to get ready to go to the gym and then afterwards showering and getting ready - that's a whole other 30-45 minutes. And that, I definitely didn't have time for. After school I did two haircuts, which landed me at home at 11:30pm. I thought about doing a couple sit-ups or something just to relieve the guilt but as soon as I walked through the door I changed my mind. No half assin' around here, either be all the way lazy or all the way productive.

Plus it was massage day today. Supposed to rest and drink plenty of fluids on massage day. Man did she work my muscles though. It's exactly what I needed. She even asked me if I paint or do hair, something where my arms are above my head, because she could tell based on how tight my back was. I wish I could make those massages part of my regular schedule because it was so great.    I'm not getting any younger, that's why I need to start taking care of myself now. Got to get to the gym and condition my muscles. I don't want to be the frail old lady - I want to be strong.

The guilt me quote.

This is the spot I got my massage done at. Got a great deal off Groupon!!

This quote popped up on the TV at the massage place. Goals - love it!
